Affordability

As Canadians, we face real day-to-day struggles. The increasing burden being taken on by families to ensure the health and well-being of themselves and their loved ones cannot be overstated. Families are facing immense financial and emotional pressures. As a father of three, I am aware of the struggles of our youth – high tuition fees, student loan debts and the rising cost of living are making it difficult for them to establish financial independence. Living in a multigenerational household with older adults, I also understand first-hand the challenges of aging and the critical role of family caregivers – the backbone of our healthcare system. 

My top priority is to help make Canada an affordable place to live for all through sound fiscal and monetary policies. Reducing the tax burden on working-class Canadians will increase their take-home pay and help raise the standard of living. Eliminating the carbon tax will further reduce inflationary pressures. Home ownership and renting also needs to be attainable and accessible. A multifaceted approach is essential to achieve these goals.

Older adults benefit from a robust local economy that supports better community services, healthcare, and social programs ensuring they can age with dignity and security.

I will champion economic policies that foster stability for businesses and investors, driving prosperity, job growth, and opportunities for all Canadians. This will include supporting growth of our energy industry, promoting innovation and technology, and encouraging trade and investment. 

Our energy industry upholds high environmental standards while producing a robust pipeline of diverse energy sources, including oil, natural gas, hydrogen, ammonia, and renewable resources like wind, solar, geothermal, and nuclear. We must strengthen partnerships between government and the private sector to create inclusive opportunities and drive collaborative efforts toward our environmental and economic goals.  Together, we can lead in environmental stewardship while promoting sustainable economic growth.
